The Fish Gate Church is governed by a Church Council of up to 8 members appointed in accordance with its constitution. The Pastor is also a member of the Council. The Council may nominate from its number up to 4 elders who work with the Pastor in giving spiritual care and Christian instruction, ordering public worship, and exercising godly discipline.

Andrew Klynsmith is pastor at The Fish Gate. He is married to Liz, and they live at Strathalbyn. They have four adult children, and two gorgeous grand-daughters. Liz works as a cook at the Mylor Adventure Camp, part of the ministry of Baptist Care SA.
Andrew studied theology at Luther Seminary in North Adelaide, during which time he was youth worker at Walkerville Anglican Church. Following ordination, he was an assistant minister at Walkerville for two years, and then was minister at Largs Bay Anglican Church for 11 years. He then ministered at Flinders University with Christian students on campus for five years. He followed that by serving as team member and director of ministry with New Creation Teaching Ministry. Andrew came to be pastor at The Fish Gate in 2013, firstly sharing pastoral ministry with David Kowalick and then becoming the sole pastor in 2016 when David was called to ministry at Walkerville Uniting Church.
Andrew’s interests are gardening, walking and watching movies, as well as reading widely, and spending time with people chewing the fat about things that really matter in life.
